EMR to Colleges Crossing

EMR to Cars and Coffee – Colleges Crossing, Ipswich

By Craig Wilson.

There are so many of these Cars and Coffee gatherings around the country, we saw this one as an opportunity to enjoy the unique setting of the Brisbane River bushland.

Most of them are in car parks so this was very pleasant.

We gathered at Kenmore on the western side of Brisbane on what turned out to be the coldest morning in many years, and when Tony Galletly arrived in the Eleven he was a pale shade of blue.

As were Barry McInnes in his lovely Caterham, and the guys who joined us in the Caterham and Westfields invited by Rob Preslmaier. They had a great morning and thanks Rob for the camaraderie.

Joe Wilson also joined us in his immaculate blue Morgan for the run out.

Leaving Kenmore at 7:00am meant we were given a prime spot by organisers and kept the 7 Lotus together, including the very nice yellow S1 Exige of John Rogers, which joined us later.

It was great to see John and Penny Barram along to support the run with those displaying their cars being;
Tony – Eleven, Steve – S2 Europa, Craig – S1 Elan, Alan – Excel, Barry – Caterham, Cossette – Elise Cup, John – S1 Exige.

It’s a lovely venue with a broad range of cars and motorbikes and worth a visit.
